We’ve all looked for a way to vomit the indignation accumulated in our chest, we have cried staring at the void to see if at least there we could find something. I think we intended to see the future and, for a brief moment, we visualized something that filled us with courage: we will be free. I saw it in the black river of the march #TodasSomosMartha
Together we spat the tears that we held like a lump in our throat as we watched the videos and listened to the stories. It seemed like the breaking point for many, we felt the “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH” spilling.
Getting where we are now has cost us thousands of lives of women who are no longer here, women whose chance to live and leave in peace was cut off. Women who cursed their “condition” of being women.
Our hearts continue to crack: the ignorant, the executioners who sentence us break it: living by this system, being a woman is a death penalty and those who kill us are protected by the patriarchs of a society whose finger feel light when pointing it to women as they blame them of everything inhumane that happens to her.
Conversations educate, let them spark. Let’s not be scared to break etiquette by addressing these “issues” during dinner. Let us accept the responsibility we have to inform ourselves, to inform others, to set the example of walking together with those who share the desire that should be universal, to be equal.
